Baybrook is owned and run by Lucy Davis who has an academic background in Animal Development and Genetics. Lucy’s canine career started in her childhood walking and training the neighbourhood’s dogs.
Whilst studying for her BSc in Molecular and Cellular Biology Lucy spent much of her spare time volunteering at Bath Dogs and Cats Home. Once graduated she worked for 10 years as a research Scientist at Cambridge University but her passion was always with dogs and this
continued as a hobby with spare time filled with competition obedience and breed showing her beloved German Shorthaired Pointers.
During this time Lucy studied and passed her 3 year part time diploma in Dog Training and Integrated Behaviour Counselling, took a beginners
personal counselling course, studied an Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management and began assisting and teaching at Newmarket and District Canine Society (NDCS).
Today Lucy is married to Paul, has three children Matthew (9yrs) Samuel (6yrs) and Alice (3), one working GSP Tegan, one larger than life Parson Russell Terrier - Callie and her tabby cat Mr Bud. She runs Baybrook Dog Training, is Head Trainer At Newmarket and District Canine Society after 13 years instructing, is a full member of The Canine Behaviour and Training Society (TCBTS) (formerly known as the URKCB), competes regularly in Obedience and the breed show ring, teaches classes, agility, working gundogs and nose work, writes for various local publications, works closely with local vets and rescue shelters and makes regular visits with her two Pets As Therapy (PAT) dogs.
Lucy’s education continues by attending seminars and courses to make sure Baybrook is up to date with recent research and methods.
